Ours is a religious family. I have seen my grand mother and other elders to have their own idols of God to pray very regularly in front of. Regular prayer was vital tool for them to develop inner strength. I was made to follow the same as a child. I used to have my own pooja and my grand mother used to make me learn how to worship. Now we have one common pooja place where all the idols of different God belonging to individuals have been placed. Main pooja is being done by my mother. We all try to join during Aarti. Occasionally we used to go to some temples in town but not very regularly. Here at Faridabad, a temple has come up very near to our house. I very regularly go there before breakfast. Prayer has been the most reliable source to attain peace of mind and strength to live with some purpose. I don’t know from when and how it developed but my prayer is as follows:
Oh God, I know and accept that I have no one who can be mine in totality except you. You are mine at every moment, in all situations and in all respect. So let me not forget you for a moment.
My country should progress rapidly and I should be ready to make any kind of sacrifice for my beloved country.
I should always be respectful to my parents and let me put all efforts to make them happy and satisfied.
Let children be obedient, laborious and honest and should be ready to serve elders, the society and the country.
Let me honestly try to feel VASUDEO SARWAMITI in my life and action gradually.
God has been so gracious to fulfill my desires. And I am confident of his graciousness in future also.
